Greetings to my viewers from all over the world, particularly Iraq and Japan and soccer fans around the globe. It is that time of the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Qatar that I not only bring to you a 90Min plus match between Iraq and Japan (from the 30th to 138th minute of this video), but also the celebration after the game and the beauty of Education City Stadium in #AlRayan #City #Qatar.
The intention of this video is to take you to Education City Stadium via Education City Metro Station, watch the match with me inside the stadium and be part of the celebration after the game and take you back to the metro station. This is evident by it’s length thus it is more than just the Iraq vs Japan game, there’s more to it for anyone and everyone who wants to take a #tour of the #EducationCityStadium.
Iraq won the game by 2 goals to 1 despite over 70% ball possession and nonstop attacks by Japan. This surprised not only Japan, but many soccer fans and pundits all together, Japan being one of the Asian football giants and the team expected to lift the trophy at the end of this tournament. Iraq were electric in attack and very disciplined at the back. Japan led in all the departments and stats except the goals. They attacked, they possessed the ball at over 70% and they had many passes totalling to about 600 against Iraqi’s 230 and goal attempts. One could say that Japan was disorganised when Iraq scored an early goal in the first half at the 5th min, a goal scored by striker Hussein. The 2nd and the winning goal was again scored by Hussein at extra time of 5 min of the first half. Even though Japan had many corners against Iraq, it is unfortunate they could not convert them into goals. With the Iraq 2 : 1 Japan results, Iraq qualifies to the knockout stage of the tournament while Japan must win their next game for them to qualify.
Note: The actual 90 min of this game starts from the 30th minute of this video and ends after 1 about 1 hrs 45 minutes. The rest of the time is the events before and after the game which are also worth watching. Also faced with technical issues with the video and that’s why I have taken long before posting.
My hubby is an Arsenal Fan, a fanatic to be precise and had the expectation that Japan would win for his Arsenal idol, #Takehiro #Tomiyasu . What a shock to him? what a loss to him? His perspective changed and believed Iraq can pull another surprise, something that was not expected in this tournament.
