The Men’s Horizontal Bar event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held on July 24 and August 3, 2021, at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre in Tokyo, Japan. In the qualifying round, approximately 70 gymnasts from 35 nations out of a total of 98 gymnasts competed on the horizontal bar. The gymnasts were divided into five subdivisions, with subdivision two taking place on July 24, 2021.
In subdivision two, 18 gymnasts competed on the horizontal bar. The top eight gymnasts in this subdivision advanced to the horizontal bar final, along with the top eight gymnasts from the other four subdivisions. The eight gymnasts who advanced from subdivision two were Daiki Hashimoto from Japan, Tin Srbic from Croatia, Adem Asil from Turkey, David Huddleston from New Zealand, Samuel Mikulak from the United States, Nikita Nagornyy from Russia, Reiss Beckford from Great Britain, and Joao Lucas Gomes from Brazil.
