Inaugurated on the 5th of January, 2023 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik, the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, one of two venues at the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela, is not only a work of art in terms of architecture but also the largest all-seater field hockey-specific arena in the world.
The state-of-the-art facility can seat over 20,000 hockey fans in comfort, and promises to provide each one with an unforgettable matchday experience. The picturesque stadium boasts off two world-class FIH approved turfs for hockey, apart from gymnasiums and World Cup Village, which can house over 8 international teams.
