Double Olympic Champion Rebeca Andrade submitted the Triple Twisting Yurchenko vault, which was given a 6.0 start value. It consists of a round-off onto the springboard, followed by a back handspring onto the table, and a salto backward laid-out with three twists. A month ago, it’d already been leaked that the Brazilian gymnast was working on it, so there were many expectations on whether or not she would actually debut it in competition. However, she opted for her two easier vaults: a Baitova during the qualification round, and an Amanar during the final. There’s also no footage of Andrade warming up the Triple Twisting Yurchenko, so she may have never had the intention of actually going for this super difficult vault.
