Trivia: Blue Impulse, acrobatic flying team of Japan Air Self-Defense Force, flew over Tokyo this afternoon to draw the Olympic Symbol by injecting smoke out their airplanes. I went to Japan National Stadium to shoot a video hoping to catch Blue Impulse & the Olympic stadium at the same time. I started shooting the video at JR Shinanomachi station and walked to the stadium. There were so many people already there. But nobody knew the exact time of the drawing because they didn’t make an official announcement in order not to attract too many people at one place. We kept waiting and I kept recording so I won’t miss the moment. Around twelve forty PM, they finally showed up and flew over our head. Of course I kept recording. But they flew away quickly. But I kept recording patiently. Around twelve forty five PM, they came back! Then suddenly my camera started showing an alert saying it’s over heated! Blue Impulse started drawing the symbol in the sky and that’s when camera went dead!!! How does it have to happen on the once in a life time day like this?!?!
