Indian shooter Avani Lekhara creates history by winning gold medal in the Tokyo Paralympics. Avani won gold in 10m air rifle scoring 249.6 points and also setting the new Paralympic record. In the process she also equalled the World record. After her fascination show at Tokyo Paralympics Avani became the only Indian woman to win a paralympic gold. Even in Olympics no Indian woman has ever won a gold medal. The 19 year old athlete from Jaipur is the fourth Indian athlete to win a Paralympics gold after swimmer Murlikant Petkar (1972), javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia (2004 and 2016), and high jumper Thangavelu Mariyappan (2016).
