Eleven years ago Laura Collett fell from her horse and spent six days in a coma, lucky to be alive. Fast forward a decade and she has an Olympic Eventing Team gold medal from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and an MBE… Laura is the next athlete in for a chop at the salon in episode 5 of A Cut Above.

In the latest episode, multi-award-winning hair stylist Lisa Farrall chats with the gold medallist about what it’s like to grow up riding ponies, the epic highs and colossal lows of her sport, becoming renowned for her parties, and her ambitions for Paris 2024.

Laura Collett was left in a coma for a week after falling from her horse, having fractured her shoulder, punctured her lung, lacerated her liver, broken two ribs and lost sight in one eye. Following a lot of rehab and years of winning competitions, she continued her dream and she competed at Tokyo 2020 with London 52. Joining forces with Oliver Townend and Ballaghmor Class, and Tom McEwen and Toledo de Kerser, they brought home Great Britain’s first eventing team gold in 49 years.
