I will participate if the Olympic Games are held in Tokyo once every four years. For three years, I attended various seminars in Tokyo and Sendai about the activities of interpreters and volunteers for the Olympic Games. I moved to Kashima Stadium and Sapporo Dome by car or train, and after the match, I got in between the players and the reporters, put on three masks, and worked hard as an interpreter for a short time. It was a busy week, but I got goose bumps many times when I saw the various facial expressions of the players. I am grateful to be able to participate as a volunteer in Tokyo 2020, 57 years after the 1964 Olympics. “Do you want to join again? When asked, of course, “Yes! ❣️ 3 years of learning about the Olympic rules and interpretation at seminars in Tokyo and Sendai seemed long for me. I can only imagine how long it felt for the athletes to join the games. I volunteered for about about a week in Kashima and Sapporo Dome and even though my part of volunteering and interpreting between the athletes and the journalists was short I got the goosebumps so many times while watching various feelings on the participants’ facial expressions. After 57 years Tokyo hosted the Olympic Games one more time , I am grateful I was a small part of Tokyo 2020 and I would do it again if I had to.
