In 1924, 258 athletes from 16 national teams came together in the small Alpine town of Chamonix, France, for what later became the first ever Olympic Winter Games. Chamonix 1924 was a landmark moment in the development of the Olympic Movement, and a springboard for the growth of the French resort and winter sport. As we celebrate 100 years of sport on snow and ice, we look ahead to see how the Games can adapt to the challenges ahead.
