Having endured a challenging first year at ASM last term under Philippe Clement, where he never truly found his groove and was largely a peripheral figure, it’s been brilliant to see Takumi Minamino start his season so positively. Enjoying a strong campaign on his way to bagging five goals and four assists so far in Ligue 1, it’s been a joy watching him thriving under manager Adi Hutter – a coach he’s familiar with due to him working with him previously at Red Bull Salzburg.
Clearly more settled, determined and cutting a more content and confident figure, all the signs have been extremely encouraging. Carrying his solid form from pre-season into the Ligue 1 season, Minamino will be hoping he can continue building on his confidence-boosting first 16 leagues matches to truly stamp his mark with ASM under a coach who knows how to get the best out of him.
