Japan’s Mone Inami won the silver medal at the women’s golf at the Tokyo Olympics. This is the first time for both men and women to win a medal in golf. The final round on the 4th day started at 6:30 am on the 7th, ahead of schedule in consideration of typhoons. Originally from Toshima Ward, Tokyo, Inami started with a 10-under par with Nelly Corda, the top American in the world ranking, by 5 strokes. Golf at the Olympic Games has returned for the first time in 112 years at the last Rio Games. In the final round, Inami increased his score by 7 to 17th, including consecutive birdies at 12th and 13th, and was in the top position. However, in the final 18th, he made a hole out with a painful bogey, a total of 16 unders, and a tie in 2nd place, and confirmed the medal. He won the silver medal in the playoffs with Lydia Ko of New Zealand. This is the first Japanese medal at the Olympic Games for both men and women.
