Auckland City head coach, Ramon Tribulietx, and Sanfrecce Hiroshima’s Hajime Moriyasu react to the Japanese side’s 1-0 win in the FIFA Club World Cup play-off in Yokohama on Thursday.

Hajime Moriyasu, head coach, Sanfrecce Hiroshima:
“The match result was determined by the physical capability of our opponents. In the first half they were very strong because they were not tired and they defended really well too. However, they became tired in the second half so we had more space to attack. So, we created more scoring chances. I planned the match for 90 minutes and I think that it was a good plan. We were the more balanced side over the 90 minutes. We were getting more aggressive in the second half. (Toshihiro) Aoyama was able to score for us because of that. I think his judgement was very good as well.”

Ramon Tribulietx, head coach, Auckland City:
“I think we must be very happy with the game that we played. Don’t forget we are an amateur side and coming up here to play Hiroshima in Japan, it is really hard for us. I think we played a very good game, we competed until the end, even when we went 1-0 down, we still backed up and had one last chance that could have been an equaliser. So we are defeated but we will keep our head really high.”
