Maude Charron is a Canadian weightlifter who was born on August 28, 1993, in Matane, Quebec, Canada. She competes in the 64 kg weight class and is known for her impressive strength and technique.

Charron began her weightlifting career in 2014 and quickly made a name for herself on the international stage. She won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Junior Championships and followed that up with a bronze medal at the 2016 Pan American Championships.

In 2018, Charron suffered a serious back injury that threatened to derail her career. However, she worked hard to rehabilitate and returned to competition stronger than ever. In 2019, she won a gold medal at the Pan American Games, becoming the first Canadian woman to win gold in weightlifting at the Games.

Charron continued her success in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics, where she won a gold medal in the women’s 64 kg weightlifting event, setting a new Olympic record in the process. Her victory made her only the second Canadian woman to win gold in weightlifting at the Olympics, following Christine Girard’s win in 2012.
