Superstar weightlifter Mirabai Chanu is on cloud nine now that she has finally managed to put the horrors of Rio behind her as she clinched a historic silver medal in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Mirabai Chanu became the first Indian to win a medal at the Tokyo Games and the first female weightlifter from the country to bag the silver medal in the Olympics. Mirabai also became the first Indian athlete to win a medal on the first day of the Olympics. After win Mirabai says, I am very happy to win the first medal for India at these Games. I don’t just belong to Manipur, I belong to the whole country.
