Japan trained in Doha on Tuesday, on the eve of their opening game at the Qatar World Cup.
Hajime Moriyasu’s side have been drawn in Group E with 2014 winners Germany, 2014 quarter-finalists Costa Rica and 2010 champions Spain.
They face Germany first at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
Playing in their seventh consecutive finals, Japan are aiming to to get beyond the last 16 for the first time at a World Cup.
