On July 29, 2021 – exactly one year ago today – 18-year-old Sunisa Lee of the USA became the Olympic women’s artistic gymnastics all-around champion!

Suni, as she is called, is the first Hmong-American athlete to compete at an Olympic Games!

For Suni to win the most coveted title in women’s artistic gymnastics is an achievement that is difficult to overpraise!

Suni also won a silver medal in the team competition, and a bronze medal on uneven bars!

Suni’s life became a whirlwind, becoming famous virtually overnight!

Suni competed on the popular television reality show “Dancing With The Stars” in the fall of 2021!

After this, Suni attended Auburn University and competed in the 2022 NCAA (US college gymnastics) season, leading the Auburn Tigers to the National Championship Finals, where they placed fourth out of more than 60 colleges! This was a big improvement over the results of previous years!
