The first ever Olympic triathlon mixed relay saw Team GB’s dominant Jess Learmonth, Jonny Brownlee, Georgia Taylor-Brown and Alex Yee finish in 1:23:41 to win a sensational gold medal.

After a powerful start, Yee had a 21-second lead going into the final leg as the British champions were pushed to the limits in the consecutive disciplines of 1500m swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running.

The gap between Team GB and second place USA narrowed going into the last 2km run, but Yee pulled away into a 14 second lead to finish an outstanding team performance and claim gold.
