He might have broken his collarbone less than two months before the Tokyo Olympics but there was nothing stopping Tom Pidcock winning a historic gold medal in mountain biking for Team GB.

Starting in 29th position on the grid, Pidcock gained 26 positions in the start loop alone and never looked like letting victory slip away, gaining a lead of 20 seconds and completing the event in 1:25:14.
