Sanshiro Murao made his debut in the men’s 90kg judo class at the Paris Olympics and won a silver medal. He won his first three matches by ippon, but lost to Tokyo Olympic champion Rasha Bekauri in the final. Japanese men’s judo has won medals for five days in a row. Murao advanced to the semi-finals with oosoto-gari and footwork, but was sadly defeated in the final.
