Simone Biles is an American gymnast and the most successful in the history of the sport with 30 world championship medals and seven Olympic medals. She started gymnastics at the age of six after her talent was discovered. From 2013 to 2023, Biles won eight US championships in the all-around, breaking the record set by Alfred Jochim in 1933. 🇺🇸
At the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, 2014 in Nanning, 2015 in Glasgow, 2018 in Doha, 2019 in Stuttgart and 2023 in Antwerp, she won a total of 23 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals. She is the first gymnast to win the world all-around title three times in a row. 🏅🥈🥉
After the 2019 World Championships, Biles took a 1½-year break from competition. At the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, she qualified for all six finals but had to withdraw from the team all-around competition due to mental health issues. The US team won silver, and Biles later took bronze on the balance beam.

Biles did not take part in the subsequent World Championships and did not compete in 2022 either. To date, she has invented five gymnastic elements that are named after her: two on floor, two on vault and one on balance beam. 🤸🏿‍♀️✨
