Sha’Carri Richardson will have her redemption.

The United States sprinter dominated at the 2021 Olympic trials, but was banned from the Games after testing positive for marijuana.

Richardson admitted to ingesting cannabis after learning of the death of her biological mother and was widely supported by other athletes.

At the 2024 trials, Sha’Carri got off to a slow start in the 100 meter finals, but passed the competition for the win, securing her spot in Paris.

Her 10.71 is the fastest in the world this year, making her the favorite for gold.

Melissa Jefferson and Tanisha Terry, who both train with Richardson, finished second and third and will join her at the Olympics.

America has not won the women’s 100 meters at the Olympics since Gail Devers in 1996.
